Meet at airport 1000/1030hrs and check in North terminal , Flights 1310hrs arrive Keflavik 1510hrs approx. with Icelandair and had have baggage allowance of 2 x 23kg each plus cabin 10kg. I arrive early usually and will find check in bay etc and advise group

All luggage loaded on truck for transport by road to fish camp at Sudureyri (too heavy for internal flights)
Notes: On most trips there is time to kill waiting for anglers from other countries to land so we transport on one coach to domestic airport, average couple of hours.

Transfer to domestic airport for flight to Isafjordur Airport.
Notes: Worse case scenario if wind speeds are too high for the internal flight to take off then a coach trip is laid on and takes approx 7hrs to drive to collect the cars. From that point approx. 20 mins to the camp.

Collect cars 20 minute drive to Sudureyri escorted by camp boss Robert, stop off en route at local supermarket for provisions.
Notes: I person in each team of 4 will need to be nominated as the driver and a credit card will be required to register the car so one member of your team will require a card.

Early evening arrival at fish camp Sudureyri.
Notes: En route to the camp there is a supermarket stop to purchase your groceries, you can either buy as an individual or you can do a shopping list and buy as a group probably most economical option.

Luggage arrives usually around midnight subject to road conditions and traffic.

Notes: Fishing in Iceland is like other destinations it is weather controlled, too rough you don't go offshore. Both the Fjords at Sudureyri and Flateyri offer good cover on most occasions and there is general fishing opportunities for Cod, Flatties, Halibut, Seawolf and Coalies so you should be able to fish most days of your holidays. In peak season you also have 24hr light so if windy in the morning and eases afternoon go and fish the midnight sun.

Day One: 1 member of each team/boat crew needs to do the boat test which involves some very basic seamanship multiple choice questions help is given. Meet at pontoon and boats are allocated. Safety and familiarisation of the boats covered by camp boss Robert. Over to fish factory to fill totes with fresh ice. Off to fish marks and away we go. No restrictions on how long at sea subject to light and conditions just be sensible.
Notes: Please take on board the safety information especially about fishing close to shore in the fjord, weather reports daily, keeping the boats clean and tidy daily. THERE IS NO FISHING IN THE LAGOON OUTSIDE THE HOUSES. Please work as a team if any members want to fish the midnight sun DON'T GO SOLO MINIMUM OF TWO OUT ON THE BOATS AT ALL TIME

Day Two: Off load fish at the factory and fill fresh ice choose your fishing marks off you go. Note each team will choose their own catering arrangements, fishing and sleeping times to suit team members.

Day three, Four, Five, Six according to team decisions on what you do and weather conditions.
Offload catches and get fresh ice each day.

Last day if you're not all fished out you can get another few hours afloat but you have to be back in, fish unloaded and boat cleared and cleaned ready to leave at 1400hrs approx to drive back to airport, offload car and check in.
Notes: Robert our host will provide latest updates on timing for re-fuelling the boats and payment for fuel used plus travel times for the return leg of the holiday.

Boat Fuel is arranged with camp boss Robert DON'T GO TO SEA with less than 1/2 tank fill up. Best to have one of your team members setup their credit card to use out there and cover food and fuel costs and then you settle up at end of trip or you all have cash to share the costs.

You have use of the car at the camp so if more provisions are required you can go back to the supermarket to get best prices. Refuelling is done at the time you reach the airport there is a fuel garage at the supermarket and is automatic payment via card.

Bar / Cafe is in the town a short walk from the camp so if you want a night out details of what's on you can get from camp boss Robert. Happy hour 1700 -1900 half price beers etc.

Returning home we have internal flight to Keflavik and then bussed to Reykjavik capital of Iceland and a two night stay at the 3* hotel Viking. Chance to spend day in the town, end of trip meal at the hotel or in the town. Early to bed for an early morning call 0300hrs approx and bussed to Keflavik airport to collect luggage and check in for flight 0745hrs back to UK LGW with arrival approx. 1145hrs.
Notes: Again as above if the winds are too high for the internal flight to take off there is a coach journey to the hotel in Reykjavik. This is why it's built in to the itinerary for the hotel stay in case of this delay and UK flights timing.
